Commanding superb views of the beautiful Lym Valley, we have over five acres of camping space, typically comprised of flat or terraced plots sheltered by well-established hedges and mature trees.
The site is located away from major roads and so retains it’s peaceful, rural atmosphere. The site has a small climbing frame and swings for the children and plenty of parking for boats and trailers by prior arrangement only
Dogs are welcome as long as they are on a short lead whilst on the park and under control at all times (we are sorry, but we do not accept Staffordshire Bull Terriers, Rottweilers, Dobermans and Bullmastiffs) There are plenty of footpaths and walks around the campsite to exercise dogs. Over half of our pitches have electric hook-up points. There are numerous drinking water standpipes dotted around the park.
Toilet and washroom facilities are provided by 2 modern, purpose built blocks (and they include laundry and drying facilities). Hairdryers are available in both Men’s and Ladies sections and operate on a 20p coin meter. To avoid excessive queuing, and with conservation of water in mind, our showers also operate on a 20p coin meter – which provides four and a half minutes. We have plenty of 20p pieces so no need to stock up before you arrive. Please note: whilst we do have disabled washroom facilities we believe our park is not appropriate for disabled campers due to its sloping terrain, sloping access points and shale paths. Before making a booking please see our Camping Terms and Conditions below which give you important information about camping with us.
Our on-site shop is stocked with general camping essentials, basic food and BBQ requirements, sweets and drinks and there is a local information section to provide you with details on events and attractions. In the High Season we also have fresh bakeries available. Within the shop we can also charge up your mobile phones/tablets for a small fee. Should our shop be closed for any reason there is a Village Store/Newsagent only 400 yards away which is open 7 days a week and is very well stocked. For additional convenience we provide 24 hr access to freezers located in the washroom facilities and these are free of charge. Please note that these are to re-freeze your ice packs. We also have WiFi available throughout the park and this is available on a pay-per-use basis.
All guests and their visitors staying at Hook Farm are required to observe the following conditions:
From 1st March to 30th April and from 6th September to 1st November we ask that you arrive between 1.00pm and 6.00pm. From 1st May to 5th September we ask that you arrive between and from 1.00pm to 8.00pm. All arrivals must register with reception before going on to the park. We shows all of your guests to their pitches. Pitches must be vacated by 11.00am on day of departure leaving the pitch in a tidy manner and, in particular, free of any fossils or stones collected during the holiday. Outside of the High Season a late departure (through to 6pm) can be arranged (subject to the pitch being available) for a small fee of £6.00.
All dogs must be kept on a short lead at all times on the park. Please ensure that your dog does not cause annoyance to other park users and is never left unattended on the park. Any fouling must be cleared using the bins provided. Sorry, but we do not accept Staffordshire or Pit Bull Terriers, Rottweilers, Dobermans and Bullmastiffs.
The playing of vehicle stereos is strictly prohibited on the park. Musical instruments, radios, CD players and similar appliances should be used considerately during the day and should not disturb or be a nuisance to fellow campers. Noise in general must kept to an absolute minimum after 11.00pm and before 7.30am.
No open fires are to be made on the park. Portable barbecues are permitted but must be at least 6″ off the ground – if a stand is required please use the bricks we have made available. We do not allow wood or wood chip products to be burnt in the BBQ – please only use charcoal.
Children must be supervised at all times and children under 8 must always be accompanied by an adult in the washrooms. We ask that the play area is not used before 8.00am or after 8.30pm or sundown whichever is the earliest to avoid disturbing other campers. Water games are not allowed anywhere on the park. We are sorry but we do not allow children under 18 years to camp without their parents being present.
Please note that the maximum supply to each pitch is 10amps. This is appropriate for such items as phone chargers, electric lights, travel fridges, camping kettles and camping heaters, etc. but items such as domestic kettles and awning heaters may trip the supply and we therefore ask you not to use them. We do not allow the use of splitters on our site.
Please leave the basins, toilets and showers clean and tidy and as you would wish to find them.
Please note that certain areas of the park are terraced. Please do not climb the banks and vehicle access must always be via designated roads. The speed limit is strictly 5mph. The Lym Valley is designated a “Dark Valley” so the Park has restricted lighting at night, the use of a torch is strongly recommended.
Minimum stay for advanced reservations – During the Bank Holidays and School Holidays we require a minimum of 2 nights for advanced reservations. If you require a one night stay please make a request by phone or email.
Sorry, but in order to keep the park as peaceful as possible for everyone’s enjoyment we do not accept groups (which for us is more than 4 adults or more than 2 families who know eachother) on the park. We also don’t accept single sex groups of 4 adults or more unless by prior arrangement. Visitors are welcome and we charge £3.00 for parking if you are staying for more than 1 hour. We do reserve the right to refuse access to visitors at our own discretion.
All tents, cars and personal belongings must be contained within the designated pitch. Small camping trailers (upto 3x4m) are welcome by prior arrangement only. We may have to assign you a larger pitch at an additional cost to allow space for a trailers. We are unable to give refunds if the pitch is vacated early (except in extenuating circumstances and at the park owner’s discretion). We reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone on the park without reason or remove any tent or caravan should it be considered necessary. The refund of the appropriate portion of any site rental shall be sufficient discharge of all obligations to any person who is required to vacate the park. The park owner shall not be liable for any loss or damage or accident to any persons or private property, however caused, whilst staying on the park or using the facilities or amenities.
All reservations made in advance are subject to the following terms and conditions: We take payment by debit card over the phone. Under normal circumstances all reservations made in advance require a deposit to be paid at the time of booking to reserve the pitch and the balance must be paid in the same way at least four weeks in advance of arrival (if the booking is made within four weeks of arrival full payment must be made immediately). Any deposit paid forms part of the total bill for the booking. The final bill is the total fee less any deposit paid. The following is our Cancellation Policy; a full refund will be given in the event of the cancellation of a holiday 28 full days prior to the arrival date. In the event of cancellation less than 28 full days prior to the arrival date, or in the event of an early departure of a booked holiday, we reserve the right to retain all monies paid unless the pitch can be re-let in which case a relevant refund will be made. In the event of failure to arrive without prior notice (and including failure to arrive by the latest Arrival Times specified above) we reserve the right to retain all monies paid.
